Published on Thursday, 21 March 2019 at 9:42:11 AM

There's so much happening over the WoW Fest weekend. So much so that we've prepared an itinerary for your family to refer to so you have the best time possible!

Day one

10.30am – Festival Opening

Head on down to the Geraldton Foreshore for the official launch of WoW Fest!

11am – Kid’s Hub

Let the kids run wild at the Kid’s Hub which is complete with face painting, temporary tattoos, cute animals to cuddle, bouncy castles and rides.

11.45am – Kite Flying

The sky will be packed with loads of colours and sea creatures so be sure to look up and check out the amazing kite display. There will be big kites, little kites and kites the colour of the rainbow.

12pm – Carnival and Sideshow Alley

Get your dose of adrenaline at the Carnival and Sideshow Alley! The Zipper and Gravetron are sure to bring the thrills and challenge the most daring of daredevils.

12.45pm – WoW Feast

We bet you’ve worked up an appetite after all that fun and excitement. The WoW Feast area has an awesome selection of food vendors who will keep your hunger under control. Grab some satay kebabs, pizza, churros, pasta, tacos, smoked meats, waffles and so much more.

1pm – Ultimate Water Sports Water Show

While you’re sitting back and devouring some yummy food, Ultimate Water Sports will be conducting a water show. You’ll see people flying around on jet skis, jet packs, fly boards and more!

2pm – Kinetic Creations Sculpture

After you’ve recharged and had some time to sit down, make your way to the water to see the kinetic sculpture which celebrates both wind and water! This colourful installation resembles a lionfish and glistens in the water and shines on land.

2.30pm – Galileo and Celeste Snails

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre brought the larger than life puppet to WoW Fest last year and this year they’re bringing Galileo and Celeste the snails! They’re unlike anything you’ve ever seen before and if you get up close be sure to look inside their shell for a delightful and interactive surprise.

6pm – Sunset Entertainment

After you’ve snuck home for a few hours, head back into the CBD for Sunset Entertainment presented by Euphorium Creative. A series of musicians and entertainers will be setup on the beach alongside fire drums performing as the sun goes down. It makes for a great night out especially with Ultimate Watersports Night Show in the background and fireworks later that evening.

 WoW Fest Day One

Day two

10am – TUG Boat display

Make your way to the Foreshore to see Svitzer’s TUG Boat display! There’s nothing quite like the TUG’s spirting water about.

10.30am – WoW Feast

Grab some brunch with the family while you’re at the Foreshore. There’s seriously so much food to choose from and there will be barista coffee there too!

11am – Air Display

Club Formation will be putting on an air display featuring some of their jets! They’ll be doing all sorts of moves and flying at high speeds. Sit back and take it all in.

11.30am – Kid’s Hub

The Kid’s Hub is happening all WoW Fest weekend. If there’s something the kids absolutely loved yesterday or didn’t get to try, take them back for round two! Plus, it’s always a bonus seeing those cute farm animals again.

12.15pm – Giant Kite Display

The kites will be taking to the sky yet again and what a sight it is when they’re metres up in the air. Let the kids run around on the grassed area or splash about in the waves while the sea creature themed kites are above.

1pm – Sand Sculpture Workshop

Don’t worry if you missed sand sculpting legend Tim Darby at last year’s WoW Fest because he is back and set to create another of Geraldton’s icons! He will also be running sand sculpting workshops for all members of the family to participate in and enjoy. Just turn up and get ready to pound the sand.

2pm – Emerging Artist’s Stage

Our local musicians will be performing at the Emerging Artist’s Stage all WoW Fest weekend! Be sure to pop to hear tunes from Ian Weggler, Ash Friesen, Jasmine Gannaway, Anne Williams, Achi Aquilar and so much more.

5.15pm – WoW Fest Concert

After a few hours of resting get ready for a night of entertainment and world-class performances at the WoW Fest Concert. The Temper Trap will headline the concert with special guest Tkay Maidza. There’s also some great supporting acts including DJ AMOD3US, hip hop trio W3 Were Here and local DJ crew Sunday Best. Head to the Foreshore with your friends for a drink and a fun night out. You can purchase your WoW Fest Concert tickets here

Sand sculpting legend Tim Darby will be at WoW Fest

The Wind on Water Festival will take place on Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 April on the Geraldton Foreshore. There will be maps and programs along the Foreshore to make sure you get from Point A to Point B in a fuss-free way!
