If there’s one date you need to mark in your calendar for 2018 it will be Geraldton’s newest signature event – Wind on Water Festival!

WoW Festival will encompass everything we love about Geraldton.

Think perfect weather, water sports, amazing family activities on our beautiful Foreshore, plus the addition of some very exciting new projects such as kinetic sculptures on our beach.

It will be held on the weekend of April 21 and 22 with the event culminating in a concert with a soon to be announced headline act.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the weekend would be one not to miss.

“WoW Festival is going to be truly spectacular. It will showcase everything Geraldton has to offer,” he said.

“We want this event to be something that people from all around WA will put in their calendar.

“It is an absolutely stunning time of year for those around the state to travel here and experience our beautiful coast mixed with an array of events and entertainment.

“We want to become a destination of choice.”

WoW Festival will have everything from kite displays and kite making workshops, art exhibitions, extreme water sport activities, a water show, onshore and offshore fishing competitions, music, food and much more.

Mayor Van Styn said the headline act for the WoW Festival concert would also bring thousands of people to Geraldton.

“Yet again we have another huge act to hit Geraldton which we are very excited about,” he said.

“We are not far off announcing the act and we have no doubt the community will be buzzing once they hear who we have secured.”

WoW Festival was born from two of Geraldton’s natural elements – wind and water. Both elements play a key part in our lifestyle and have therefore been chosen as the event’s theme.

The City is proud to deliver this event with the generous support of Building Better Regions Fund Community Investments.

More details about the event will be released closer to the date.
